Sua população é de 1.425 habitantes. O nome Ariribá se origina de araribá, árvore com 20 a 25 metros de altura , que em nossa região é encontrado como araribá-amarelo muito utilizado para estrutura de móveis e ornamentação. As ruas são identificadas por nomes de pássaros.
